What is Google Analytics?

WHAT IS GOOGLE ANALYTICS & WHY DO I NEED IT?

A lot of people who contact me regarding their AdWords account plead ignorance if I ask them whether they are enrolled with Google Analytics. After all, it's completely free of cost (Recently Google has started a paid version).

If you are not enrolled with Analytics, you are simply missing out on a breath of world class analytical data that can really take your business forward. And I am not exaggerating.

For example, how about getting to know which countries or cities are your website visitors from? How about getting to know which pages they visited, and for how much time?

Google Analytics supports multiple websites through one Account, absolutely free

If your site is attracting visitors, then are they logging on from their smart phones? What is the browser they are using? What is the screen resolution of their mobile phone? Or, which operating system are they using? Everything you can think & expect is available through Google Analytics.

Google Analytics puts a wealth of data at your command

For those who are running their AdWords campaign, it would be a sin not to use the free services of Google Analytics. You can link your AdWords account with your Analytics account, and then just watch data flow in real time.

As someone clicks on your ad, you will get to know what was the exact search query he had put in against which your Ad was shown. From these search queries you can get to know (so no guesswork) which keywords are pulling in the most relevant queries consistently, and refine your campaign. You can also get to know other dimensions like country, city, time, etc. In fact, it would be folly to run AdWords without Google Analytics.
